Originally titled 'GLORIA!', 'Bush Witch' (2025) is a not-like-me use of tangible mediums to depict another version of our gurl. Made up of emulsion paint testers, a worn out bed sheet and busted paint brushes, I wanted this version of Gloria to present the roughness missing from her digital self.

The use of these materials lends itself to the idea of Gloria being unkempt and unpolished. It also forced me to embrace a creative process where each decision is sort of final - which sounds terrifying. Creating digital work allows me to not commit to every change I make, but this means I will spend too long obsessing. Whereas here, I made the point of not going back over any creative decisions which felt very natural.

"Perfectionism isn't within Gloria's radar, so it makes sense for the process to honour that, alongside being made up of paint testers and an old bed sheet."
