Kia Whitcombe is a multidisciplinary artist with a love for digital mediums. She is ever inspired by the growing pains of adulthood, and is currently overthinking the confines of being an Artist. Using 3D modelling softwares, filmed performance, sound, and environment building, Kia expresses a polarizing thought on creative freedom and the limits of time.
"I can make what I want, but only when I can, because I work all the time to fund what I make."
Her previous works have considered societal issues around the male gaze, consumerism and addiction within the class system, and self image and social media to name a few.
Alongside her personal practice, Kia leads an artist community group, Erdington Artist Conversations. Originally hailing from the suburb of Erdington, Kia works to bring local creatives together to inspire connections and opportunities.
