Chicken wings, fake blood, Zoom and a sound recording of Boris Johnson, 'Thanks' (2020) is a satirical performance made months into the first lockdown.

 

I invited friends to interact with me on this Zoom as other eager politicians, as I mimed to a speech made by Boris Johnson pre-lockdown. Here he ensured that the virus is nothing to worry about and to prioritise businesses staying open if it were to spread into a pandemic.

 

I wanted to reflect this level of corporate greed in my character's consuming of chicken wings pouring with blood - the character's appetite is much more important than anyone's physical wellbeing.
